What has been your career path so far?
I have a law degree and a master’s in Terrorism, Security & Policing, but I realized early on that practicing law wasn’t the right fit for me. Fortunately, I discovered Facilities Management, which has allowed me to apply my academic background in a practical and impactful way.
What drew me to this field was its dynamic nature and the opportunity to solve real-world challenges. Over the years, I’ve embraced roles that have pushed me to grow, whether through project management, operations improvement, or stakeholder collaboration. Facilities is a sector where I’m constantly adapting and learning, and I’ve found it to be the perfect blend of variety, structure, and problem-solving.
What attracted you to Sayer Vincent?
Initially, it was the role itself—it seemed both challenging and engaging, promising to keep me busy and motivated in the long term. However, as I looked deeper into Sayer Vincent, I was truly impressed by the company’s dedication to its sector, its longevity and consistent growth over the years, and its unwavering commitment to improvement—not just in business but also in caring for its people and the environment.
Best part of the job?
The best part of the job is the variety and the tangible impact of my work. Every day brings new challenges, whether it’s addressing operational issues, collaborating on improvements, or ensuring the workplace runs efficiently. Seeing the results of these efforts, like a smoother workflow or a better environment for colleagues, is incredibly satisfying.
I also appreciate the people aspect of the job—working with colleagues, stakeholders, and contractors across all levels to achieve shared goals. It’s this combination of meaningful interactions and visible results that keeps me motivated and engaged.
Tell us something people may not know
In 2012, I was selected for London’s Apprentice scheme (not the Lord Sugar one!), where 35 candidates were chosen from a pool of 600 applicants. My team and I emerged as the final winners, earning placements in high-end companies.
I was fortunate to secure a role at a big international law firm, and it was there that I was first introduced to Facilities Management. The dynamic and multifaceted nature of the field immediately captured my interest, and I haven’t looked back since!
What do you do outside of work?
Outside of work, I love spending time with friends, hosting gatherings at home, and introducing them to the amazing flavours of Greek cuisine—it’s always a joy to share a taste of my culture!
Since my family is still back in Greece and I miss them terribly, I’m often on the phone with them to stay connected. It’s important to me to keep up with what’s happening in their lives and make sure I don’t miss anything significant.
